Portugal is renowned for its clubs like Porto, Benfica, and Sporting Lisbon, as well as legendary players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Luís Figo, Bruno Fernandes, and Rafa Leão. Every year, local football academies nurture talented young players, many of whom go on to join top European clubs. Among the prominent youth events held in Portugal, the Challenge Cup Tournaments holds a special place.
The Challenge Cup takes place in the picturesque Algarve region, in Parchal, from June 24th to June 26th. The competition welcomes boys' squads in categories from U10 to U17 and girls' teams in U15 and U17.
With its stunning beaches, the Algarve offers participants a chance to unwind after matches, creating memorable leisure time by the sea. To further enrich the experience, each footballer and coach receives a complimentary ticket to Slide & Splash, one of Portugal's premier water parks.
Participants arrive from Portugal, Spain, France, Canada, Brazil, and other countries. Among the regular academies are Benfica, NF Academy, Carvalho Academy, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and many more. Matches will take place on various fields, including Campo De Odiaxere and the municipal stadiums in Silves and Lagos.
The number of players per team and match durations vary according to age groups, ensuring the tournament is tailored to each category.
