The most important Italian spring youth football tournaments in 2024

Italy is one of the key states of world football. Throughout its history, Italian teams have held a significant place in the football world and some of the most famous players and coaches, past or present, are the pride of Italy or have come through the Italian league. Italy hosts a huge number of youth tournaments in various cities where teams of different ages, male and female from all over the world can participate. In this article, we will tell you about the most important youth football tournaments that will be held in Italy on spring in 2024.

1. Gallini Cup 

The Gallini Cup is one of the most popular tournaments in Italy. It will be held in the city of Pordenone from 28 to 31 March 2024. Both male and female teams take part in it. Boys categories are U13, U14, U15, U16 and girls are U17 age group. This tournament is one of the most famous tournaments not only in Italy but also around Europe. In 1999 it was held for the first time.

It is significant that 4 teams participating in each group are: a representative of Serie A - Champions League club, a foreign famous representative, an elite school team and 1 local team. Another fact that shows the importance of this tournament is that through their participation hundreds of talented players have been discovered, such as Mateo Kovacic, Dusan Vlahovic, Roberto Gagliardini, among others.

2. Pisa World Cup 

It takes place in the city of Pisa from 29 March to 1 April 2024. The tournament is open to boys and girls age groups. For boys, the following categories are defined: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17.  And there are 2 girls ages in the competition: G15 and G17. This tournament has been organised in Italy for 20 years. More than 100 teams from all over the world such as Turkey, France, Great Britain, etc. participate.

3. Roma International Cup 

It will be held in the beautiful city of Rome from 29 March to 1 April 2024. Age categories: Boys: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17. As for girls, these are: G15 and G17. Within the framework of this tournament, more than 250 matches will be played at one of the best sports grounds in Italy.

4. Florence Cup 

Taking place in Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, from 30 March to 1 April 2024. The following age groups are foreseen: U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17 for boys and U15 and U17 for girls.  More than 50 teams from all over the world will come to participate in this tournament.

5. Viareggio Cup 

The most popular youth football cup not only in Italy but also worldwide. It will be held from 20 March to 3 April 2024. The tournament was founded in 1947 and has been held annually since then. It has been played by famous footballers such as: Pirlo, Inzaghi, Totti, Buffon, Nesta, Lukaku, Jorginho, Cavani, etc. The following teams take part in the competition: AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Napoli, Atalanta, Anderlecht and others.
